2017 Chamonix Lead World Cup Mens finals
Luckily the finals in Chamonix were visually spectacular from a photography perspective, sadly as a spectacle in elite climbing they were sadly lacking. With more tops than a Speed comp, the guys event in Chamonix 2017 will be remembered as one of the weirdest competitions in recent memory.
Still, at the end of the day there needs to be a winner and Marcello Bombardi of Italy was the man who got it done. He looked right on the edge sticking the final crux route, but held on, and as he’d completed the route quicker than Japan’s Keiichiro Korenaga he secured his first ever victory at World Cup level.
Here are a selection of photographs from finals, enjoy and share freely on social media! The photos are also available at https://circuit.smugmug.com/Chamonix-2017-Mens-Lead-finals/
